“What I like about Bloom… everything! We spend time outside a lot. We learn a lot of math. Art and science are fun. There are nice people at Bloom, too.”

Belonging to Our Learning Community:

In order to provide exceptional freedom and flexibility, all children enrolled in any program at Bloom are registered as homeschool students for the purpose of state recognition.

Bloom Learning Community welcomes children without regard to race, color, national origin, ethnicity, religion, economic background, gender, gender expression, or sexual orientation, and families without regard to composition.

As a microschool, Bloom currently does not have the resources to support students who have intensive emotional, physical, behavioral, or learning challenges. Bloom also has more freedom for self-direction than most traditional school environments, which is ideal for many children, but for others it can make things more challenging. We ask that you keep in mind our program’s structure when applying, and invite you to contact us if you’d like help determining if your child’s specific needs would be best met at Bloom.

“Bloom isn’t strict like my old school, we can do what interests us, not be forced to do things. I also like helping the younger kids and how we’re outside a lot.”

-Bloom Member, age 13

Application Process

- Bloom has rolling enrollment and is always accepting applications! -

Applicants will be added to a waitlist once all spots have been filled.

Step One:

Sign up to be added to our contact list. We will get back to you to schedule a tour when available.

Step Two:

Tour Bloom and ask Directors your questions.

Step Three:

After your tour of Bloom, your family will be sent an application if you’d like to move forward. Complete one application per child. Applications are accepted year round and will be processed once the non-refundable $50 (per family) application fee is received. If all spots in the desired program are full, applicants are added to our waitlist in the order received.

Step Four:

A family interview with Directors and/or a Shadow Day may be scheduled after the application and fee are received. Additionally, the first month of each new membership is considered a trial period to help determine if Bloom will be a good match for your family’s current needs, goals, and expectations.

Step Five:

Membership fee payment and contracts are arranged once membership is offered.

Proud Community Partner with

Baldwin Wallace University!

“Bloom has given our daughter a voice and a love for learning. Before Bloom, she attended a school where she was bullied and hated school. Now, she is flourishing both socially and educationally.

We are so grateful for Kristen, Wendee, and Beth- they have given our sweet girl a passion for learning and a love for connecting with people. I can’t imagine ever going anywhere else.”

-Caitlin, A Bloom Parent

Questions?

“I’d rate Bloom 10 out of 5 stars! I like that I can ask questions and I really like the projects that we do.”

-Bloom Member, age 11

“Our kids really enjoy Bloom and it lines up with how we want to raise them. We love how hands on it is and how project based it is. Each year it gets better. The choir show, the art show, the Jack Frost parade, the summer lemonade stand….it’s all great.

If it fits your parenting style and you stay involved, and you and your kids are open minded (and you aren’t satisfied with a standard education)…this can be the place for you.”

-Karl, A Bloom Parent
